The capsule (large sweet jar) contained a letter from the tenant of the time (1947), newspapers, magazines and war ration books. Two of the magazines contained articles following the tenants' difficult 18-months farming on the remote coastal farm.
After a search on the internet the present owners traced the tenants to New Zealand (now in their 80's). In September 2004 Alan Burdekin, his daughter Dale (who was born in Tal-y-Gaer) and his grand-daughter visited Pembrokeshire and stayed at Tal-y-Gaer (Mrs. Burdekin was unfit to travel). They had given up all hope of the capsule being found and were delighted when they were contacted.
Copies of the literature and further information are available at the cottage.
